Camp Winaukee is a private residential boys’ camp on beautiful Lake Winnipesaukee in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.  Our program offers seven, four and three week sessions for boys ages 7-15.

Founded in 1920, Winaukee enjoys a reputation as one of the premier sports and adventure camps in America.

Winaukee has two campuses. The Mainland Camp has approximately 200 campers ages 7-12 and the Island Camp, located on a private island just off the Mainland, has approximately 150 campers ages 13-15. Winaukee’s two separate facilities offer all of our campers the intimacy of a small camp setting with the breadth and diversity of programming of a larger camp. The atmosphere at each of the two age-appropriate camps is unique. The camps are run essentially separate, and each has its own facilities, playing fields, courts, bunks, playhouses and dining halls.

Mainland and Island Activities

Basketball
The Mainland has three courts — two outdoor and one indoor. The boys learn skills from our fantastic, seasoned coaches. From zone defenses to pick and rolls to jump shots, the ball never stops bouncing! Play in tournaments, leagues and intensive clinics – Now get ready for some high flying, slam dunking action!

Soccer
Professional and college level instructors direct the Mainland soccer program on our two full-size fields. Campers get great instruction and have the option to play in leagues and tournaments throughout the summer.

Hockey
Hockey is king at Winaukee. Street Hockey, Roller Hockey and Ice Hockey — we’ve got it all at Camp Winaukee!

Our Ice Hockey program is designed for experienced hockey players of all ages on both Mainland and Island camps. We have made special arrangements to have exclusive use of the Ice Skating Rink at a local college. The campers enrolled in the program participate in stick and puck drills on the ice once a week. Ice time combines instruction with ample time for scrimmages.

Baseball
Four fields, dug outs, three professional pitching machines, batting cages – sounds of rawhide striking lumber reverberate all day! Get ready! Play ball!
Imagine going to a batting cage with a major league ball club. Winaukee has two “Casey” batting machines to go with our two full length cages. Your batting average will soar!

Football
Flag football as well as touch football games are very popular activities  Intensive clinics are offered for boys who want to specialize in football.
Passing, punting, kicking, defense, offense – you will have the opportunity to learn all aspects of the game!

Lacrosse
A game full of excitement and one of our more popular sports on camp!  Non-contact and full contact programs are offered. For those campers interested in taking their skills to a new level, they may join the Winaukee Lacrosse Warriors and play in tournaments and inter-camp competitions throughout the summer. Nothing beats Winaukee’s LAX program!

Archery
Robin Hood beware!
The merry men of Winaukee are coming. We have two facilities and a variety of compound and simple bows.

Golf
A new driving range and miniature golf course round out a fantastic on camp golf experience.  For those who wish more of a challenge, campers may also have a chance to hit booming drives and sink putts on nearby courses.

Tennis
Winaukee runs a high-quality tennis program including special tournament clinics during elective periods, leagues, serving and volley lessons, private instruction, and inter-camps. In addition, all campers have use of the small ball machines, as well as the Prince Pro machine.

To help meet the needs of the growing number of advanced and tournament-level tennis players coming to Camp Winaukee, we have created an Intensive Tennis program. This program offers a special opportunity for those campers who have requested more intensive, advanced tennis instruction.

Campers who enroll in the Intensive Tennis Program have an opportunity to be involved in more competition and round robins. The level of instruction is appropriately geared to boys who are enthusiastic tennis players. Instruction includes areas such as under and top spin, backhand, American twist serve, drop volleys and half volleys, as well as court strategy clinics. We are delighted to have world class players and coaches coordinating this program.

A complete summer experience!

Winaukee is primarily a 7 week camp, but we know many parents (and boys too!) aren’t quite ready to spend that long away from home. So we have created a 3 and 4-week complete camp experience!

Campers will enjoy all aspects of our 7 week program: excellent skill instruction across all sports, three electives per day, inter-camp tournaments, two trip days off camp, visiting day, a phone call home and LOTS of fun! Our shorter programs allows for meaningful friendships to form within an awesome camp program but isn’t too overwhelming.

Winaukee’s approach to camping is grounded in a strong values system. Our Tree of Values guides our programming and is weaved into the fabric of each day. Friendship, Sportsmanship, Cooperation, Athleticism, Loyalty and Enthusiasm are the values that we model for our campers and instill in them the importance each and every day.

What special activities will my son participate in?

Each camper will have the opportunity to take a half-day tour of Lake Winnipesaukee on Winaukee’s own speed boat with his bunkmates. This is always a highlight of the summer!

Each Sunday the whole of camp participates in Tribal War! The campus is broken into four teams and compete against each other across a variety of athletic challenges with everyone cheering each other on! This gives our 4 week campers exposure to a traditional “Color War” experience that typically take place during the last week of a 7 week camp.

Our 3-week campers get to experience a full week of Color War!

Campers will experience campfires with s’mores, songs, skits, and all aspects of a traditional summer camp experience within a nurturing environment that fosters positive interactions with other campers and staff.
